A Dunny can come in varying shapes and sizes, but most often
their shape resembles something between that of a lovable
cuddly bear with long rabbit ears. However, the great thing
about a Dunny is that it isn't their shape that makes them
unique, it's how they're painted - and by whom - that sets
them apart.
Artists such as Joe Ledbetter,
Tara McPhearson, Frank Kozik and many others have put their
creative genious to the test and created a some memorable
examples. Kidrobot is the primary
producer of the Dunny Series, but many other lines exist on
the market.
The French Dunny series is one of the latest on the market
in early 2008. As described by Kidrobot:
"The French are invading! Kidrobot
takes a trip across the Atlantic to collect designs from France's
hottest artists. The French art scene left a lasting impression
on 2007 with an explosion of new and upcoming talent making
their mark on contemporary culture.
A variety of artists rocked Dunny in this exciting new
series. 123 Klan, SKWAK, Tilt, SUPERDEUX and MIST are just
a few of the artists chosen to collaborate on this lovely
new series."
